‘Monster in the making’: Government’s energy relief plan ‘will fail’

Shadow Climate Change and Energy Minister Ted O’Brien says the Albanese government’s energy relief legislation is a “disaster” and a “monster in the making”.

He said the legislation will “fail” because the government won’t address the need for more supply.

“Not only will it fail in the short term, but it is going to have a disastrous effect on the industry over the longer term because it kills supply,” he told Sky News Australia.

“I doubt very much my colleagues are going to stand by and have the Australian economy ruined by a government that cannot explain this package, has not modelled this package, and has no implementation plan for this package.”
