Recruitment for more women in parliament is a ‘two-Pronged approach’

Founder of Hilma’s Network Charlotte Mortlock says it’s a “two-Pronged approach” to promote more women in parliament.

“I think you have to think of the logistics of parliament and what barriers that has and how you can make that better,” Ms Mortlock told Sky News host Erin Molan.

“The idea of making parliament more approachable to women and having childcare there and ensuring the hours better is one thing.

“But the other thing is a cultural issue we have that we need to be saying to women, you are welcomed here; we want you here.”
