Wong ‘doesn’t seem to know the first thing’ about what ‘impacts’ coal workers: Canavan

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says despite Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong once being a member of the CFMEU she “now doesn’t seem to know the first thing about what impacts these people”.

“And she’s there saying that – basically admitting that this net zero stuff is going to cost a lot of people their job,” Mr Canavan told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“Well, this is another broken promise now from the Albanese government because I remember them saying there was going to be over 600,000 jobs created by their ‘Powering Australia plan’, that everyone who wanted a job would have a plan.

“We would have these hydrogen industries; everything would be sweet and rosy and now they’ve got these secret reports that they’re refusing to release, saying the complete opposite.”
