‘Absolutely impossible’ to achieve 50 per cent by 2030 without a radical change to the economy

The Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says it is “extraordinary” that the Liberal Party promised to go to 50 per cent renewable energy.

“If a Liberal leader wants to present a target like that, he has an obligation to show us how it can be done and how it can be done without raising energy prices,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“Because if he’s got a way of doing that, he’s a genius because it has not been done anywhere else in the world.

“It is absolutely impossible to achieve 50 per cent by 2030 without a radical change to the economy.”
